Brill, the international scholarly publisher, is pleased to announce the acquisition of the classical and mediaeval studies list from Egbert Forsten Publishing (NL).

Today Brill announces the acquisition of part of the book title catalogue of Egbert Forsten Publishing (NL). The take-over includes all the titles and book series in classical and mediaeval studies. Among these are well known commentary series such as Ammianus Marcellinus, Apuleius Madaurensis and Basilicorum Libri LX,and scholia in Aristophanes. The acquisition includes those titles that went out of stock in recent years.

“We are extremely pleased to have the opportunity to add these titles to our own program in classical and medieval studies”, says Sam Bruinsma, Brill’s Vice President Business Development. “We welcome the authors and we intend to keep their titles available in the future, be it in print or digitally.”

Egbert Forsten adds: “I was lucky to have found Brill willing to take over these titles. Not only will they be able to move the book list into the digital age, but their global outreach will most certainly breathe new life into it as well.”

As of 1 January 2012 all titles will be available at Brill’s warehouses. For ordering and other information, please visit www.brill.nl or contact your local bookseller or library supplier. For a complete list of transferred titles, please contact sales [at] brill [dot] nl .
