Biographical note
Jacques Jouanna was, until his retirement, Professor of Greek at the Université de Paris IV – Sorbonne, and Director of the CNRS Research Group 'Médecine grecque'. His publications include Hippocrate. Pour une archéologie de l’école de Cnide (1975, re-issued 2009), Hippocrate (1992, Engl. tr. 1999) and several critical editions of Hippocratic and Galenic medical texts.
