Biographical note
Michiel Wielema, Ph.D. (1999) in Philosophy, Free University Amsterdam, is a professional Dutch-English translator and copy-editor. He has also published widely on the history of Spinozism and is the author, most recently, of The March of the Libertines (Verloren, 2004).

Comme le montre très bien l’introduction historique de Wiep van Bunge, s’il y a une relation entre les deux [Spinoza et Koerbagh], on ne peut pas la réduire à une simple divulgation qu’Adrian aurait faite de quelques principes du spinozisme. A light shinning se révèle être en effet un ouvrage assez original, et assez originel, nullement réductible à une anticipation du TTP [Tractatus theologico-politicus]. [...] Au contraire, elle pourrait permettre aux spinozistes de mieux comprendre à fois le milieu intellectuel dans lequel opérait Spinoza et les raisons de son originalité.
